Three teenagers sustained gunshot wounds during a Saturday night incident in North Lawndale, Chicago. Police reported that officers were responding to a gathering in the 1400 block of S. Christiana Ave around 11:30 p.m. when they heard multiple shots fired.
Upon arrival, a 19-year-old man approached the officers. He had been shot in the groin and forearm. Officers applied a tourniquet, and he was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he remains in serious condition.
A 19-year-old woman also made her way to Mt. Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the buttocks. She is in good condition. Later, an 18-year-old woman with a similar gunshot wound was located and taken to Mt. Sinai, also in good condition.
Police have stated that Area Four detectives are conducting an investigation into the incident.
