Incident Involving Paul Pelosi in California

In California, Paul Pelosi was involved in a hit-and-run incident. He reportedly caused major damage to a parked car, as confirmed by authorities on Saturday. The Napa County Sheriff’s Office stated that Pelosi’s brown convertible hit a legally parked car in Yountville, located in wine country. After the collision, he briefly stopped and then drove away without reporting the incident.

A witness observed the hit and called 911. Deputies found Pelosi shortly after, about a quarter of a mile away, with visible damage to the front of his vehicle. He admitted he was aware of hitting something but was unsure what or when it happened. There were no reported injuries from the incident.

The statement from the sheriff’s office indicated that Pelosi, 86, had no alcohol in his system. Due to his age, they referred him to the Department of Motor Vehicles to reassess his driving eligibility. Such procedures are standard for older drivers.

Pelosi was not arrested, and the sheriff’s office suggested a misdemeanor charge for leaving the scene of an accident. Nancy Pelosi’s staff did not comment immediately when contacted via email.

Paul Pelosi has a previous record involving a guilty plea for misdemeanor driving under the influence in Napa County in 2022. At that time, he received five days in jail and three years of probation. He served two days in jail, was credited for good conduct for two more days, and completed one day in a courthouse work program. His probation included attending a three-month drinking driver class and installing an ignition interlock device. He also paid approximately $5,000 in victim restitution and about $2,000 in fines.

In the same year, Pelosi was also the victim of a violent attack at his San Francisco home, receiving severe injuries after being beaten with a hammer.
