3 weeks ago 0

A 17-year-old male is now facing a charge of murder related to the death of a young victim found shot on Chicago’s South Side earlier this year. The charge includes one count of first-degree murder, according to an announcement from Chicago police on Friday night.

The incident links back to the tragic shooting of 13-year-old DeAntwan McKeever, who was discovered on May 21 with a gunshot wound to his head in the South Chicago neighborhood. McKeever, who lived in West Town, was urgently transported to Comer Children’s Hospital, initially in critical condition. Sadly, after spending a week receiving medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities apprehended the teenage suspect on Thursday, locating him on the 3000 block of East 79th Place in South Chicago. The suspect is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Saturday.
