Recently, TikTok influencer Sara Gilson, who was known online as Sara Duffey, accused her husband of being a pedophile. In a tragic turn, both were subsequently found dead in Gilson’s Oklahoma home, believed to be a murder-suicide.
Gilson had uploaded a video on July 11 alleging that her husband, Jeremiah “Shawn” Duffey, engaged in sexual misconduct with a minor. Her post suggested that a documentary might soon cover her claims. This assertion was still visible on her TikTok account as of a recent Saturday.
According to local news reports, police responded to a domestic call at Gilson’s residence on July 24. Upon arrival, they discovered both Gilson and Duffey dead from gunshot wounds. An extended family member identified them as the deceased individuals, indicating that Duffey allegedly broke into the home, killed Gilson, and then himself.
Authorities reported that the 911 call originated from a juvenile in the house. Duffey had been legally required to maintain a distance from Gilson due to a protective order she filed on June 10. This order demanded that he stay at least 100 yards away from her.
On the same day Gilson filed her order, another protective order against Duffey was requested by a different woman. This stemmed from allegations that Duffey was seen “kissing and fondling” her 15-year-old daughter, who was on a basketball team he coached. He supposedly sent inappropriate messages to the girl and gave her money to silence her.
In Gilson’s TikTok post, which mirrored a trending video format, she branded Duffey a “pedophile.” It was reported that Gilson had previously filed two other protective orders against Duffey. Both were eventually dismissed when Gilson did not attend the hearings.
The couple reportedly had children together. Official sources like the Owasso Police Department have been contacted for additional confirmation and details regarding the case.
