Barrow County Superior Court Judge Nicholas Primm stated that numerous warnings were evident before the tragic event. Despite this, Gray did not restrict his son’s access to firearms or seek the necessary mental health care.

Colin Gray was convicted in March for 27 counts, including second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. His conviction is significant because he provided his son with the AR-15-style rifle used in the attack, despite concerns about Colt’s mental health.

The sentencing followed his son Colt’s guilty plea to all 55 charges, for which he received a life sentence without parole. During the hearing, victims’ relatives expressed their ongoing pain since the shooting on September 4, 2024.

Our daughters must grow up without their father, Aspinwall stated. They will miss his guidance, his encouragement, his hugs, and all the milestones he should have been here to witness.

Nine others sustained injuries. Prosecutors noted that although warned, Colin Gray continued giving his son access to firearms, including the weapon used in the assault.
