Washington State Faces Wildfire Emergency

Evacuations and Widespread Destruction

Bob Ferguson has discussed the situation directly with President Donald Trump, seeking federal emergency support. Sen. Patty Murray also confirms the federal government’s commitment to aid the state’s response and recovery efforts.

As Spokane County’s Board of Commissioners declares a state of emergency, the county is gaining authority to purchase emergency equipment rapidly. Officials remind the public to avoid water areas where firefighting aircraft collect water, highlighting safety during operations.
