Family Demands Justice for 12-Year-Old’s Death
The family of 12-year-old Jacob Freytes is seeking justice after his tragic death in New York City. Freytes was killed by a stray bullet in the Bronx. His mother, Migdalia Martinez, and sister, Angelica Coriano, spoke on ‘Fox & Friends’ expressing their grief and frustration. They criticized the suspect’s lengthy arrest record and called for tougher crime laws in the city. Martinez pointed out the increasing sense of security among career criminals.
Florida Machete Attack Incident
In another incident, a Florida man allegedly attacked his sister with a machete in a brutal assault. Ruben Altidore, aged 36, is accused of attempting to kill his sister while she slept in her bedroom alongside her 1-year-old daughter. Authorities reported the attack took place in Margate, north of Miami. Altidore was arrested and charged with attempted felony murder, aggravated child abuse, and probation violation.
During the attack, Altidore reportedly shouted, “Oh my God, why aren’t you dead yet?” according to the arrest report. The victim survived despite severe injuries, including a 10-inch wound on her thigh that reached the bone, possible amputation of four fingers, and multiple lacerations. Her 1-year-old daughter was found uninjured but covered in blood.
Neighbors and Eyewitness Accounts
The victim managed to escape and sought help from a neighbor. Her cries for help were recorded on surveillance cameras. A cousin and a neighbor corroborated the police’s account of the attack, describing the victim’s distress as she fled for assistance.
The authorities discovered a large amount of blood in the victim’s bedroom that extended to various parts of the home. A machete sheath was found in the kitchen, while the weapon itself, covered in suspected blood, was located under a bed.
Ruben Altidore remains in custody at the Broward County Main Jail without bond. The motive for his actions is still unknown.
