Mother Documents Terrifying Road Rage Episode on North Carolina Interstate

A mother recorded a distressing road rage incident on a North Carolina interstate, where another driver allegedly cut her off, repeatedly brake-checked her, and threatened her life. Her three-year-old son was present in the back seat throughout the ordeal.

Myeka Dunn was heading to her mother’s house with her son around 4:30 p.m. when a dark blue sedan abruptly entered her lane. In response to the near collision, Dunn honked her horn, which escalated the situation further.

“They almost hit me, so that’s when I honked my horn at them,” Dunn explained.

The confrontation intensified as the driver attempted to block her path, continuously brake-checking her while shouting violent threats. Dunn’s son was heard crying in the background.

Dunn began filming the incident as the other driver pursued her on the highway. Video footage shows the man leaning out of his vehicle, repeatedly yelling, “You are going to die!” with Dunn’s toddler’s cries audible in the background.

“He could see my child in the car, and he didn’t care,” Dunn noted, expressing her disbelief.

She contacted both 911 and the Guilford Metro non-emergency line to report the incident, informing them she had video evidence. However, she expressed dissatisfaction with the response received.

Christine Moore, Deputy Director of Operations, stated that proper protocols were not fully followed when Dunn reported the incident. “We issued a ‘be on the lookout’ (BOLO) alert but failed to include all necessary information, such as the existence of a video,” Moore said.

The Greensboro Police Department confirmed that officers had issued a BOLO alert following reports of a blue sedan driving erratically and harassing other drivers.

Authorities have since identified the driver involved, but no arrest has been made. Instead, Dunn was advised on obtaining a warrant for a misdemeanor charge as the incident wasn’t witnessed by officers.

Dunn expressed her frustration to WRAL News, stating she’s in the process of securing the warrant.
