Deadly Strikes Northeast of Kyiv

On August 8, Russian strikes led to the deaths of three people, including a child, in the Brovary district, northeast of Ukraine’s capital. This tragic event occurred amidst increasing missile attacks on the region. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the regional military administration, reported these casualties on Telegram.

Impact of the Attack

Debris from the strikes ignited fires at the outskirts of Kyiv. Several houses and vehicles suffered damage, while a non-residential building caught fire. Photos provided by Ukraine’s state emergency service revealed a destroyed two-storey house and two cars in the village of Pukhivka.

Escalation of Missile Attacks

In recent months, Moscow has intensified its assaults on Kyiv, primarily using ballistic missiles known for their difficulty in interception. An AFP reporter in the region noted hearing numerous explosions. The Ukrainian air force alerted residents about the possibility of missile usage originating from the north.

Public Safety Measures

Following these events, Kyiv’s military leadership warned residents via Telegram. An air raid alert urged the population to seek shelter due to the ongoing ballistic threats. Overnight strikes resulted in injuries to four individuals within the city.
