3 hours ago 0

A North Carolina man, Di-Quan Schafar Hunt, faces new charges after allegedly attacking a woman on a sidewalk in Charlotte and posting the video on social media. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed Hunt’s arrest after they reviewed a social media account, discovering a video related to an assault reported on July 30.

The video, set in the Providence Division, showed Hunt punching a woman on the sidewalk before fleeing. The suspect, arrested on Thursday, was taken to a medical facility for treatment. After his release, he will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Hunt has been arrested at least nine times since 2023. Injuries to the victim were serious but not life-threatening, and videos on the social media account depict further confrontations. In one, a woman is chased and hides behind a vehicle. Comments accompanying the video express satisfaction with the actions displayed.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police continue their investigation and encourage anyone with related information to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Hunt’s record reveals a significant history, including other charges such as assault with a deadly weapon and charges involving threats, trespass, and concealed weapons violations.

These records highlight multiple incidents, including a September 2025 simple-assault charge and a March 2025 assault charge. In 2024, Hunt reportedly violated a domestic-violence order and was involved in breaking or entering cases. Other felony charges include malicious conduct by a prisoner and resisting a public officer, although the case outcomes remain unknown.
