In a Sunday post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his gratitude towards David Warrington, the outgoing White House Counsel, noting his exceptional service for both Trump’s presidency and campaign. Warrington will transition to a career in the private sector.
Scharf has made significant contributions in his current role as White House Staff Secretary and has chaired the National Capital Planning Commission. Trump commended Scharf for his previous legal support, including representation in Supreme Court cases. Scharf’s background is robust, with experience as a federal prosecutor, a private practice attorney, and clerkships for two Federal Appeals Court judges. He is an alumnus of Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
“Will is tough, strong, and smart! He also loves our country and respects the law. Will Scharf will do a great job as White House Counsel!” Trump shared.
Scharf has been closely involved with presidential duties, often seen in significant roles during executive order signings. The confidence in Scharf’s capabilities is also shared by White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, who congratulated Scharf on his new position, citing an optimistic outlook for future successes.
Wiles also acknowledged David Warrington’s impact, highlighting the Supreme Court victories and judicial confirmations accomplished during his tenure. Warrington’s next steps are anticipated with enthusiasm.
Conservative commentator Josh Hammer shared his thoughts, praising Trump’s choice of Scharf. Hammer regards Scharf as a valuable asset to the White House Counsel’s Office, citing their previous effort in founding “Jews Against Soros.” Hammer criticized the widespread perception of criticism against George Soros as antisemitic while asserting that Soros funds activities contrary to Israel’s interests globally.
