Secretary of State Marco Rubio humorously addressed his food preferences and political future during an interview with podcast host Katie Miller. Rubio expressed his love for Pop-Tarts while commenting on Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s unique diet.
Appearing on ‘The Katie Miller Podcast’ with his wife, Jeanette, Rubio was asked about Kennedy’s diet of red meat and fermented vegetables. ‘This is a crazy diet,’ Rubio joked. ‘I’m not going to travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut. It’s ridiculous.’
Despite joking, Rubio voiced support for Kennedy’s ‘Make America Healthy Again’ movement. His wife, Jeanette, teased him about his fondness for sweets, saying, ‘He eats all the things you should not be eating.’ Marco defended his appreciation for Pop-Tarts, calling them ‘one of the great American innovations.’
In addition to lighter topics, Rubio discussed his potential candidacy for the 2028 presidential election. A recent New Hampshire poll showed him trailing Vice President JD Vance by ten points in a hypothetical match-up.
Rubio also commented on a viral meme featuring an image of him on an Oval Office couch during a meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He recounted his initial dislike of the photo, saying, ‘I looked like whatever,’ but later found the humor in it.
Fox News Digital reached out to the HHS secretary and Mars Inc., makers of Pop-Tarts, for comment but has not received a response.
