1 hour ago 0

Angel Reese expressed dissatisfaction with her initial performance during the Atlanta Dream’s game against the Indiana Fever on Sunday night. Although the Dream ended the first half with a four-point lead, Reese struggled initially, missing all six of her field goal attempts and several shots from close range.

Despite her slow start, Reese played a crucial role in helping the Dream achieve a 17-4 run, closing the first half strongly. In an interview with ESPN’s Holly Rowe at halftime, Reese was open about her performance, stating, “I was playing poorly at the beginning, but it’s a game of runs. You have to rely on your teammates like Allisha Gray, Madina Okot, and Rhyne Howard, who were all playing well.”

Gray led the Dream against the Fever, scoring 21 points by the third quarter. Okot added six points, along with six rebounds and defensive contributions. The Dream focused on teamwork and defensive strength, as emphasized by Reese during the interview.

Reese ended the first half with seven points, making 3 out of 10 shot attempts, and secured nine rebounds. When asked about the improvement after her slow start, Reese credited taking her time and trusting her preparation.

Reese, who has earned All-Star recognition for the third time in her three-year WNBA career, has been instrumental for the Dream, averaging a career-high 15.6 points and 12 rebounds per game this season. The matchup between the Dream and the Fever was pivotal as they competed for the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
