On a regular Tuesday practice, the New Orleans Saints and the Dallas Cowboys unexpectedly saw their session interrupted by multiple skirmishes. Despite the interruptions, Saints head coach Kellen Moore remained composed.
Moore remarked that although the practice didn’t proceed ideally due to the ‘chippiness,’ the teams accomplished the necessary work. His comments were reported through ProFootballTalk.
In contrast, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed his frustration. He noted his disappointment with the limited productive work achieved due to the disruptions.
Both coaches have a history, having worked together as assistants in Dallas in 2022. Moore noted their prior relationship, mentioning they communicated effectively despite the day’s tensions.
Moore emphasized the emotional nature of football, acknowledging its role in the sport. “There’s a lot of rah-rah and emotion to football, and that’s part of it,” he stated. But he stressed the importance of focusing on execution and the fundamental aspects of playing football.
He encouraged players to distance themselves from the emotional turmoil, advising them to analyze plays without the distractions to extract valuable lessons.
Both teams are set to meet on the field again for a preseason game on August 28.
