Media Attention on White House Aide Natalie Harp Sparks Debate

The media has focused intensely on Natalie Harp, one of President Donald Trump’s key aides, turning her presence at work into a news item. Harp found herself at the center of a political storm after Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., referenced her in a widely-shared speech.

CNN and MS NOW both concentrated on Harp following Ossoff’s mention, scrutinizing her correspondence with Trump and her involvement in a recent secret plane switch. Criticism was directed at CNN when they interviewed Harp’s estranged brother live.

CNN White House reporter Alejandra Jaramillo highlighted Harp’s presence in the Oval Office through social media, including a photo of Harp standing while Trump addressed reporters.

The post, mocked by many, drew criticism from conservatives who noted Harp was simply performing her duties. Comments ranged from jokes about Harp doing her job to quips about CNN’s reporting style.

Tim Young from the Heritage Foundation questioned CNN’s motives, suggesting the network aimed to fabricate a story about Harp having an affair with Trump, while portraying Harp as embarrassed by appearing publicly in the Oval Office.

CNN and MS NOW have mentioned Harp numerous times since Ossoff’s remark went viral. The media frenzy surrounding Harp’s alleged relationship with Trump saw reactions across political lines.

The White House responded by directing inquiries to an X post by communications director Steven Cheung, who remarked on Jaramillo’s past criticism of Trump. CNN did not provide comments upon request.
