He referred to Telle as “a Great Patriot, who is respected by all.” Telle has been serving as the assistant secretary of the Army for civil works.
Telle will succeed Dan Driscoll, who resigned this week as the leading civilian figure in the Army. Driscoll stated in a late-night social media post on Tuesday that Wednesday would be his final full day as Army Secretary. He provided no explanation for his departure.
This change occurs after weeks of speculation about Driscoll’s potential resignation due to disagreements with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
