Russian Propagandist Calls for Aggression Against NATO

Russian media figure Vladimir Solovyov has made alarming threats against NATO countries in a recent broadcast. His comments, deemed too extreme even for his usually lenient Kremlin handlers, were shared by Julia Davis, a journalist who monitors Russian state media. Davis posted a clip from Solovyov’s radio and online show, Full Contact, on the platform X, highlighting the segment where Solovyov expressed outrage over Norway’s seizure of a Russian vessel.

In the show, Solovyov demanded Russian forces to gather at the Norway border and suggested severing ties with Germany and the EU. His statement, ‘We spit on NATO, bomb the hell out of it,’ drew attention to his provocative stance. Davis noted that this part of the broadcast aired live but was not available on state media websites and was tagged as ‘deleted broadcast, recorded live.’

Solovyov, closely aligned with Vladimir Putin, often portrays the Ukraine conflict as a proxy fight with NATO, sometimes advocating for nuclear attacks on Western nations. This perspective is not necessarily shared by the Kremlin, which frequently uses ‘denazification’ rhetoric as justification for its invasion of Ukraine. During the broadcast, Solovyov condemned Western ideology as European Nazism and Satanism, which he claimed were threats Russia is combating.

German officials recently connected Russia to a drone incident near a Ukrainian cargo aircraft at Leipzig/Halle Airport. Solovyov scoffed at these claims but called for ending diplomatic relations with the EU. Germany’s government accused Russia of hybrid warfare across Europe, which ACLED analyst Joel Crisetig confirmed, citing 35 out of 82 events targeting Germany in Western Europe in 2025.

The Russian ship Professor Molchanov, detained by Norway’s authorities in the Svalbard archipelago on Ukrainian Naftogaz’s request, drew criticism from Moscow, accusing them of piracy. The seizure follows a ruling ordering Russia to compensate Naftogaz for Crimea-related assets. Solovyov urged Russian military intervention, stating, ‘Our Navy should be sent there to get the ship back by force,’ and insisted on aggressive action against NATO if necessary.
