Actor Alan Ritchson and his wife, Catherine, have announced their decision to separate. In a joint Instagram post, the couple shared they are choosing to end their marriage after two decades together. They stated, “We grew up together. We built a life and a family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world.” The couple emphasized their continued love and respect for each other.
The couple also expressed their intent to move forward with “friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be.” They plan to allow each other “the room to grow into the people we are becoming.” They requested privacy and compassion from the public as they navigate this change for the sake of their family.
“Change is hard enough without the whole world weighing in,” they added.
TMZ reports that Ritchson filed for divorce in December, reconciled in March, and announced their separation in September. Alan and Catherine first met as teenagers in high school, then reconnected in college. They married in May 2006 and have three sons: Calem, Edan, and Amory.
Throughout their marriage, Alan Ritchson became known for roles in “Smallville,” “Blue Mountain State,” “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” and “Titans.” His role as Jack Reacher in the Amazon Prime show “Reacher” marked a significant point in his career. In a January 2024 interview with GQ, he mentioned, “I let them watch season one,” referring to his children watching the show, though he noted he avoided one specific scene.
The couple thanked their followers for their support and stated that their family’s health and happiness remain a priority.
