Trump’s White House Media Ban Leads to Speech Challenges

In an unexpected turn of events, President Donald Trump faced difficulties during a televised ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday. This happened after his decision to ban several news outlets from the White House led major networks to boycott the event, leaving his speech nearly inaudible.

Newsmax, a conservative network, broadcast footage of Trump at the ceremony for the new White House helipad. However, without the usual cameras and microphones supplied by the White House press pool, his speech could not be properly heard.

“There’s no microphone because the pool cameras aren’t there,” explained a Newsmax presenter over the footage. “So maybe this is one example of it backfiring just a little bit.”

Trump had announced through Truth Social on Friday his decision to exclude CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House. He accused them of continuously spreading “FAKE NEWS.”

In response, other major networks decided against participating in the pool coverage in protest of the ban. Fox News Washington bureau chief Bryan Boughton, who also chairs the TV pool, indicated in a memo to the White House press corps that they would not establish a replacement pool.
