Attorney Defends Juror in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial

The lawyer for the lone holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial is disputing claims that his client failed to adhere to legal standards. He spoke to Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany, affirming the juror’s confidence in his decision. In a preview of an upcoming interview on “Fox & Friends,” McEnany probes attorney Edward Paltzik regarding juror Michael P. Desronvil’s stance. She questions whether Desronvil ever entertained reasonable doubt after the jury foreperson raised concerns about his adherence to reasonable doubt principles.

“Michael had zero doubt,” asserts Paltzik.

“Zero doubt. No doubt. And he had evidence to support his position?” McEnany queries.

“A lot of evidence. A mountain of evidence,” Paltzik replies.

Desronvil stood alone after seven days of deliberations in Clancy’s trial. Eleven jurors were set to declare the former labor and delivery nurse not guilty due to criminal responsibility issues, but Desronvil argued for conviction. Judge William Sullivan announced a mistrial on September 4.

Clancy admitted to the January 2023 killing of her three children at the family home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Her defense contended postpartum psychosis made her not criminally responsible. Prosecutors claimed she comprehended her actions and premeditated the killings.

Desronvil later explained he believed the physical evidence and witness testimony indicated Clancy knew her intentions. Prosecutors have yet to decide on a retrial. Clancy is expected back in court on September 29.

Additionally, Lindsay Clancy’s case might be considered for a plea deal, although such instances are rare according to veteran attorneys.
