Ella Langley’s Passion for Hunting

Ella Langley has a clear vision when it comes to her ideal hunting experience. Surprisingly, it involves something quite traditional rather than exotic.

During CMA Fest 2024, a clip resurfaced where Langley was asked about her dream hunt. Her response was straightforward. “My dream would be a massive white tail,” she said. When asked for more details, Langley elaborated, expressing her desire for a large, “beefy” buck. She prefers using a rifle, likely her .30-06 or .308, with the latter having been used by her to hunt numerous deer. Jokingly, she mentioned that while bow hunting is an option, “there is a little more guessing game than a rifle.” Her vision is simple: a big buck with a rifle.

This old video resurfaces during a time when Langley faced backlash over her hunting photos online. Weeks ago, past images of Langley with deer she had hunted in Alabama reappeared on social media. Critics acted as if these photos were a shocking revelation, despite Langley having posted them herself. “Caught red-handed” hardly applies when someone is openly sharing their passion.

Another clip recently shared featured Langley discussing her greatest hunting regret. She recounted an instance where she shot the largest deer of her life. Unfortunately, she never recovered it. The event occurred during high school, just before she took the ACT. Eager to retrieve the animal, she moved too quickly, ultimately scaring it off before it could be found. Despite her and her father’s search, the deer was never recovered.

Langley expressed remorse about the incident. “Oh, it haunts me,” she said. More than missing out on a trophy, she was troubled by taking an animal’s life without being able to use the meat. For her, hunting is a serious responsibility, not lightly taken. Her concern over the lost deer sheds light on her values far more than any photograph could.

The criticism over her past hunting photos seems unfounded, particularly given her transparency about hunting. She continues to pursue her passion, undisturbed by online criticism. Meanwhile, her song “Choosin’ Texas” sits at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for 24 consecutive weeks, setting a record for the longest-running number-one song in history.

Despite any controversy over hunting photos, Langley stays focused on her pursuits and continues to break records in the music industry.
