President Trump Criticizes Media Over Rally Coverage

45 minutes ago 0

President Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with media coverage of his recent rally in Ohio on Monday. He suggested that reporters from The New York Times and other outlets should face arrest due to their reporting on the event held at Butler High School in Vandalia.

Trump claimed on Truth Social that the Ohio Arena was filled to capacity and shared a video showing people lined up to attend the rally. Contrary to this, New York Times correspondent Katie Rogers reported that some upper deck areas remained empty by the time Trump’s speech concluded. According to Rogers, the venue’s student center has a capacity of 4,500.

Trump refuted these claims, insisting there were no vacant seats and thousands had to be turned away. He accused media outlets of inflating attendance figures for Sen. Bernie Sanders while minimizing attendance at his rallies. Trump also posted that his rallies were sold out with attendees moving from upper sections to the main floor.

In addition, Trump shared footage of himself taking the stage as the crowd chanted ‘USA.’ He addressed the crowd, suggesting those inside could give up their seats to those outside eager to attend.

During the event, Trump endorsed Sen. Jon Husted in his reelection campaign against former Sen. Sherrod Brown. Former NFL coach Jon Gruden spoke at the rally, voicing his support for Husted.

Trump has consistently criticized The New York Times for negative coverage since his first presidential campaign. Recent tensions included the Justice Department’s subpoena of Times journalists’ phone records, a request that was later withdrawn.
