Filmmaker Joanna Zelman had an unusual request for her father in June 2022. She wanted him to accompany her on a mission to rescue a calf from a Vermont dairy farm and transport it to a sanctuary in Maryland. This was not your typical road trip—it involved transporting animals, Mickey and Moose, in the back of their car.
The two animals were destined for Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary in Potomac, Maryland. This sanctuary offers a safe haven for farm animals, providing them with care and protection.
Mickey and Moose now thrive at their new home. They enjoy their days in a peaceful environment far different from their previous surroundings. The filmmaker’s journey highlights the importance of animal rescue efforts and sanctuary work.
