Carter recounted approaching Solomon with her concerns, stating, “I need to talk to you. I believe that there are people in the FBI spying on President-elect Trump—the duly elected president of the United States.”
Solomon was initially skeptical. He investigated further, consulting his sources. Despite his doubts, he and Carter began working on the story together, determined not to abandon the investigation.
In a pivotal development in 2017, Solomon was approached by anonymous government officials. They warned him that his work was unveiling an alleged 11-year conspiracy against Trump. He described the encounter on the podcast, recalling officials telling him he was “at the tip of a very large iceberg.”

The approach occurred after Solomon appeared on Hannity’s television show. He was discussing an increase in unmasking of Americans’ communications when he encountered a government vehicle near his home. Initially, he feared arrest, but the individuals in the vehicle delivered a crucial message.
One of the men reportedly said, “There is an incredible political dirty trick that’s being carried out using the most awesome powers of the intelligence community.” They encouraged Solomon to continue his investigation.
Carter reflected on the incident in her conversation with Hannity, noting that, with the assistance of their sources, they uncovered significant details. She stated, “With help from sources, eventually exposed some crucial details.”
