Stevenson High School Class of 2026 Celebrates Graduation

On May 22, 2026, the Adlai E. Stevenson High School Class of 2026 gathered at NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates to celebrate their graduation. The ceremony recognized the achievements and philanthropic spirit of the nearly 1,200 graduates.

Eric Twadell, the superintendent of Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 in Lincolnshire, praised the class from the stage. He highlighted their successful fundraising efforts, stating, “As a class, you led fundraising efforts that have raised well over $100,000 for local, national, and global causes. You didn’t just grow, you gave. And you gave generously.”

Twadell emphasized the significance of their contributions by saying, “Over these four years, you have embodied our portrait of a graduate, not just in skill, but in spirit. We are proud beyond words.”

During the ceremony, two seniors delivered speeches. Nisa Rao from Riverwoods, giving the Scriptor Address, expressed gratitude for the supportive community, saying, “There was a constant in our school, the selfless individuals that contribute to our community. So thank you all for being a part of my community.”

The Gubernator Address was presented by Sanchi Deshpande of Lincolnshire, who advised classmates, “Of the many things we’ve learned at Stevenson, take this with you. We, Patriots, do not skip to the ending. We live the journey because if we knew the ending, it wouldn’t be worth a watch.”

Joie Goldstein from Buffalo Grove spoke about the honor of being a Patriot, both now and in the future, describing it as “a privilege.” Meanwhile, proud parent Karthik Pushparaj, attending with flowers for his son Aditya Karthik, expressed his wishes for his son’s future success.

In the audience, Jam and Maru Torres of Prairie View proudly displayed large posters for their daughter, Abigail “Aye Jay” Julianne Torres. Jam Torres shared his pride, saying, “I’m so, so proud of her. She’s going to grow up to be a wonderful, beautiful, young lady.”

Close by, Aye Jay thanked her parents and family, acknowledging their sacrifices and support. “I want to say thank you for all the sacrifices that allowed me to be here,” she stated. To other family members, she simply said, “Thank you for being here.”
