The American Music Awards mark the unofficial start of summer, highlighting the best in music with performances from renowned artists such as Billy Idol, Keith Urban, and Teyana Taylor. The show will be broadcast live on CBS television stations and streamed on Paramount+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
The AMAs pride themselves on being the largest fan-voted awards show in the world. While voting for most categories closed earlier this month, fans can continue voting for the social song of the year and tour of the year online or on Instagram during the show’s first half hour.
Host and Nominations
This year, Queen Latifah returns to host the AMAs, having co-hosted back in 1995. Taylor Swift stands out with eight nominations following her album “The Life of a Showgirl,” which is up for album of the year and best pop album. Her songs “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Elizabeth Taylor” have also received nominations. Swift aims to extend her record of 40 AMA wins, competing for artist of the year and best female pop artist.
Other artists nominated multiple times include Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter, and Sombr, each garnering seven nominations.

Billy Idol will receive a lifetime achievement award and perform a medley of his popular hits, including “Dancing With Myself” and “White Wedding.” Keith Urban plans to perform a song from his forthcoming album “Flow State,” while Teyana Taylor will present a medley from her album “Escape Room.”
The show features performances from groups with immense popularity, such as Hootie and the Blowfish and The Pussycat Dolls.
