Dunkin’ has taken a nostalgic journey back to the 1990s in its 2026 Super Bowl commercial, featuring a star-studded cast including Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Jaleel White, Matt LeBlanc, Ted Danson, and a special cameo from NFL legend Tom Brady. The spot is titled “Good Will Dunkin’,” cleverly playing on Affleck’s memorable film “Good Will Hunting,” and is set in 1995 at the MIT campus.
Starring a Legendry Cast
The ad showcases a fictional sitcom with a legendary lineup of 90s icons, such as Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Jason Alexander, Ted Danson, Jaleel White, Jasmine Guy, Alfonso Ribeiro, and Tom Brady. Jaleel White, widely recognized for his role as Steve Urkel in “Family Matters,” expressed his excitement about joining this campaign. Recounting the moment Affleck reached out to him, White said, “I was genuinely honored to be included in such a pantheon of faces from the 90s. Every frame, every shot is just another face that pops up.”
“I love the fact that we allude to the fact that Ben Affleck invented iced coffee,” White noted, highlighting one of the ad’s entertaining moments.
Classic 90s References
The commercial begins with Jason Alexander portraying a Dunkin’ store manager who humorously accuses Affleck’s character of arranging Munchkins in a Fibonacci sequence, showcasing his “genius.” This is quickly followed by a humorous exchange with LeBlanc: “If he’s such a genius, then why’d he put ice in his coffee?”
Affleck also borrows LeBlanc’s iconic “Friends” line, approaching Jasmine Guy with “How you doin’?” In another nod to “Friends,” Ribeiro teases Affleck with, “Don’t you have a girlfriend?” to which Affleck replies, “We were on a break.” Additionally, Ted Danson’s appearance as a nod to his character Sam Malone from “Cheers” adds another layer of nostalgia.
The commercial concludes with Aniston speaking to Affleck outside the donut shop, joined by Brady. Their exchange adds a perfect touch to the ad’s nostalgic theme.
A Magical Era Revived
White reflected on the commercial’s nostalgic theme: “They really had their finger on the pulse of people to revisit what the 90s were. It’s never coming back like that — everything from the styles to the way we spoke, there’s something about that decade that’s damn magical.”
Reminiscing about 1995, White recalled his experience as a freshman filming “Family Matters” alongside witnessing Michael Jordan filming “Space Jam.” He fondly recounted rushing to see pick-up games at Warner Bros., “Sometimes you’d catch Mike in there alone, maybe just shooting free throws. Other times it was a full-blown all-star game.”
Despite being nearly allergic to caffeine, White’s favorite donut order includes classic maple, sprinkles, and an apple fritter. Regarding his prediction for Super Bowl LX, White hopes for a good game, echoing “the Tom Brady party line.”
