Las Vegas Home Linked to Suspicious Biological Lab Operation

2 months ago 0

A number of individuals experienced illnesses after spending time in a Las Vegas residence suspected of housing an illegal biological laboratory, according to statements given to the police by a former cleaning employee. Recently released court documents reveal more about this situation, highlighting the involvement of a property manager and the potential hazards posed by the biological substances inside the home.

The former cleaning worker, identified by the pseudonym “Kelly,” notified authorities of the alleged biological operation early last month. This information led to the arrest report filed against Ori Solomon, the property’s manager, in Las Vegas Justice Court, subsequent to a police raid at the location.

Evidence provided by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department shows law enforcement officials performing a search of the home on January 31, 2026. An image from the search depicts officers gathering items from inside the residence.

Working under the direction of Solomon, Kelly was tasked with cleaning the residence, which was marketed for room rentals through platforms like Airbnb. According to the report, Solomon, who also goes by Ori Salomon, faces both state and federal charges related to the inappropriate disposal or discharge of hazardous waste and possession of firearms in violation of his visa.

Discovery and Investigation

Kelly recounted discovering various concerning items during her employment at the property in April 2025. She entered the garage, usually kept locked, and encountered several refrigerators/freezers, glass beakers filled with a reddish liquid, a biological safety cabinet, and what she suspected to be a centrifuge, as per Solomon’s arrest documentation.

Describing her experience, Kelly noted that the garage’s air smelled like a hospital, yet with a stale, stagnant, and foul tinge, according to her report. She and the handyman both became “deathly ill” after entering the space, experiencing symptoms like breathing difficulties, fatigue, inability to get out of bed, and muscle aches approximately five days post-exposure.

“Kelly said a lot of people who have lived inside the house have gotten sick. One female ended up in the hospital with severe respiratory issues,” the report stated.

Grounds for concern arose for more people, including Solomon’s wife and other residents. Individuals reported severe respiratory problems, and unusual signs such as numerous dead crickets were found inside the master bedroom, which Kelly found very atypical after residing in Las Vegas for an extended period.

Further Police Efforts

Over a weekend operation, police and FBI agents extracted various equipment and materials from the garage, transporting the substances to a secure facility on the East Coast for further testing. Police officers believe the residence served as both a storage and operational site for potential viruses and other biological substances.

While inspecting the premises, Kelly noticed that the refrigerators in the garage resembled those found in typical homes rather than medical-grade units, indicating potential violations in storage standards for sensitive biological materials.

Links to Previous Illegal Operations

The police report outlined parallels between the Las Vegas case and a previous incident in Reedley, California. An illegal bio lab was discovered in Reedley, involving unauthorized biological agents and misbranded medical devices. A Chinese national associated with that operation was arrested in 2023 and awaits trial, having pleaded not guilty.

The new documents further suggest that Solomon maintained communication with the Reedley case operator, remaining in contact through hundreds of calls despite the latter’s incarceration. During these communications, Solomon allegedly executed business transactions on behalf of the Reedley operator, transferring funds to his wife and business partner in China, who avoided federal indictment.

Substantial Hazards and Housing Concerns

Authorities discovered hydrochloric acid bottles carelessly stored in an unboxed manner on an open shelf. The report stressed that hydrochloric acid poses serious health risks through skin contact, inhalation, or ingestion, demanding careful and secure storage to prevent accidental exposure.

Given the home’s short-term rental status and proximity to other residents, including elderly people living near the garage entrance, the situation raised substantial safety concerns. The report indicated that mishandling these chemicals could endanger the lives of those near the garage due to the possible airborne volatility of the acid, posing a threat to respiratory health.

Amid these concerns, three room renters were safely evacuated from the property and are currently not suspects in the ongoing investigation.
