Savannah Guthrie Appeals for Mother’s Safe Return After Alleged Abduction

2 months ago 0

In a heartfelt video released Wednesday night, “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie, alongside her siblings Camron and Annie Guthrie, expressed a desperate plea for help in locating their mother, Nancy Guthrie, who is believed to have been abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home over the recent weekend.

Addressing the public, Savannah shared the family’s willingness to engage in discussions amid reports of a ransom note, stating, “We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us.”

The emotional video further highlighted Nancy Guthrie’s significance to her family, as Savannah described her mother as, “a kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light.” Annie added, “She is our beacon. She holds fast to joy in all of life’s circumstances.” With Savannah Guthrie emphasizing, “Our mom is our heart and our home,” she pleaded by explaining Nancy’s health concerns, “She is 84 years old. Her health, her heart, is fragile… She needs medicine to survive. She lives in constant pain.”

The siblings also included heartfelt messages directly to their mother, expressing their enduring love and hope. Savannah said, “Mommy, if you are hearing this, you are a strong woman. You are God’s precious daughter, Nancy. We believe and know that even in this valley, He is with you. Everyone is looking for you, mommy, everywhere. We will not rest, your children will not rest, until we are together again.” Annie and Camron echoed their sister’s sentiments, urging their mother to stay strong and that they love and miss her dearly.

The family’s ordeal began when Nancy Guthrie was reported missing after failing to attend church the previous Sunday. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos indicated Nancy had dinner at Annie’s home on Saturday before Annie’s husband, Tommaso Cioni, drove her back home. Nanos didn’t confirm the authenticity of the ransom note allegedly sent to a local Arizona news station on Monday containing specifics about the home and Nancy Guthrie’s attire on the night of her disappearance.

While investigators have yet to identify any suspects or persons of interest, a small amount of blood found inside and outside the Guthrie residence is being examined. The law enforcement is focused on finding Nancy Guthrie first, as Nanos stated, “Nothing has come up that says, here he is, here’s your bad guy… We want to find her. That’s what everybody wants. Once we do that, then we can worry about the whodunit.”

To enhance efforts, the FBI has been reported to bolster their personnel involvement in the search. President Trump took to social media on Wednesday, announcing his commitment to assisting in the investigation, stating his discussions with Savannah Guthrie and ensuring comprehensive federal support, “We are deploying all resources to get her mother home safely. The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family. GOD BLESS AND PROTECT NANCY!”
