2 months ago 0

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported carrying out five precise strikes aimed at Islamic State (ISIS) targets over recent days. These actions were part of a comprehensive military operation to ensure the consistent and lasting defeat of this terrorist network. Between January 27 and February 2, CENTCOM forces successfully located and destroyed a series of ISIS facilities, including a communication site, an essential logistics node, and several weapons storage facilities. These operations utilized 50 precision munitions delivered via fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and unmanned aircraft.

In a statement, Admiral Brad Cooper, the commander of CENTCOM, emphasized the importance of these strikes in disrupting potential ISIS resurgence in Syria, affirming that cooperation with coalition and partner forces is crucial for the sustained defeat of ISIS. Admiral Cooper stated, “Striking these targets demonstrates our continued focus and resolve for preventing an ISIS resurgence in Syria. Operating in coordination with coalition and partner forces ensures the enduring defeat of ISIS, making America, the region, and the world safer.”

The Background: On December 19, 2025, U.S. airmen were observed preparing to load GBU-31 munition systems onto F-15E Strike Eagles as part of Operation Hawkeye Strike, according to U.S. Air Force photos.

Operation Hawkeye Strike was initiated as a response to a serious ISIS attack that took place on December 13, 2025, targeting U.S. and Syrian forces in Palmyra, Syria. This attack tragically resulted in the deaths of two U.S. service members and an American interpreter. Since the initiation of Operation Hawkeye Strike, CENTCOM reports that over 50 ISIS operatives have been either killed or taken into custody. Among those eliminated was Bilal Hasan al-Jasim, who was directly linked to the December 13 assault.

Admiral Cooper highlighted the critical nature of Operation Hawkeye Strike in preventing ISIS from encouraging terrorist schemes and attacks against the United States. He expressed the military’s unwavering commitment to pursuing individuals who wish to harm Americans and their allies in the region. In a statement made in December, Cooper stressed, “We will continue to relentlessly pursue terrorists who seek to harm Americans and our partners across the region.”

Additional Belligerent Activities: Prior to Operation Hawkeye Strike, CENTCOM indicated that U.S. and partner forces in Syria conducted more than 80 operations over six months aimed at neutralizing terrorists who posed a direct threat to U.S. and regional security.
