Authorities have identified a 36-year-old man, named Benjamin Charles Parker, as a suspect in the deaths of five people found at a rural property in Oregon. The discovery included several deceased pets and prompted a complex investigation.
On Saturday, after receiving a report of a vehicle fire near 47350 NW Otis Lane around 5:27 a.m., the Enumclaw Police Department made the grim discovery. Fire personnel on the scene uncovered human remains and multiple dead domestic animals, prompting a call for sheriff deputies, according to Washington County Police Detective Shannon Wilde.
The suspect, Parker, was later found dead in Enumclaw, Washington, inside his vehicle behind a Safeway grocery store. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office suggested suicide as the cause of death. Despite identifying Parker, detectives have not detailed the process of linking him to the incident or tracing his whereabouts in Washington.
Authorities are withholding specifics about the victims, such as names, ages, and how they died. The identities are pending, with families yet to be notified. Investigations continue to determine relations between Parker and the victims, with police asserting that the killings were not random. The motive remains undetermined.
