A tragic accident claimed the life of a 4-year-old child last Thursday in Savonburg, Kansas. Authorities reported that the child was electrocuted by a clothes dryer.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) stated the child was playing inside a home when the incident occurred. The child allegedly received an electrical shock from a 220-volt dryer.
The child’s parents rushed them to a local hospital around 9:30 p.m. Although efforts were made to save the child, they were pronounced dead at the hospital.
Currently, no foul play is suspected. The ACSO is investigating the situation. Officials have extended condolences to the family and the responders involved.

An incident in 2018 involved a 10-year-old boy found dead inside a dryer at a Houston area apartment complex. The medical examiner determined electrocution as the cause, with the death ruled accidental. Investigators noted no signs of injury or foul play.
