Marine veteran Jheyco Borda faced a life-threatening situation when a group of teens approached him, with one pointing a gun at his face. The incident occurred while Borda was working on his car in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Surveillance video captured the dramatic moments, showing Borda wrestle the armed teen to the ground.
Borda shared his experience, stating, “I was just fixing my car — a normal day for me, and I saw the teens come by. The guy took a pistol up to my head and started asking me for the car keys, phone, and all the valuables I had.” Despite the teen’s gun discharging during the scuffle, no one was injured. The bullet was fired through the back of Borda’s truck.
Borda attributed his ability to stop the attack to his Marine Corps training and quick reaction. “I just got prepared, and adrenaline kicked in,” he explained. His brother also played a role, stepping in to help confront the attackers, as seen in the surveillance footage.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred on Borda’s street. Two years earlier, a similar crime involving teens or young adults resulted in a vehicle theft at the same location.
The Prince George’s County Police Department has confirmed that two male teens have been arrested in connection with the attack, and they are investigating the involvement of the other four teens.
