Mystery Deepens in Disappearance of Lynette Hooker in the Bahamas

A recent recording casts doubt on Brian Hooker’s account of his wife’s disappearance. A friend claims the call suggests Brian was in the water with Lynette Hooker, contrary to his statement that he remained in the dinghy while she fell overboard.

On April 4, Brian and Lynette left Hope Town in the Bahamas around 7:30 p.m. Heading back to their sailboat, Soulmate, Lynette reportedly fell overboard due to rough waters. Brian claimed he paddled to Marsh Harbour and reached shore at 4 a.m. the next day.

Days later, Brian called fellow boater Blaine Stevenson. Stevenson told Fox News Digital the call indicates Brian may have been in the water that night. This contradicts Brian’s claim that he stayed in the dinghy.

“I was inside the dinghy, trying to stabilize it,” Brian said in the call, “I yelled to her, and I threw her a flotation cushion but couldn’t see her anymore.”

Kenneth Engerrand, a maritime law expert, stated Brian’s account is inconsistent. “He’s portraying different scenarios,” Engerrand said, “It’s as if he’s improvising.”

The Coast Guard Investigative Services recently concluded a renewed search for Lynette’s body. GPS data from Brian’s phone showed discrepancies in his original story. This led the authorities to search a new area with 25-foot-deep waters. The investigation is being treated as a homicide.

Brian Hooker’s attorney, Crystal Marie Hauser, asked Americans to give him the benefit of the doubt. “Consider that we all handle situations differently,” she said.
