The Toledo Police Department has launched a manhunt for Ka Nye Taylor. He faces 11 counts of felonious assault related to the June 6 shooting near the popular festival, known for its live music, food vendors, and home tours.
Taylor is described as a Black male, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Investigators released a photo of another suspect whose identity remains unknown.
Authorities have released an image of Ka Nye Taylor as the manhunt continues following the incident near the Toledo street festival.
The shooting occurred around 5:37 p.m. on Saturday, near Delaware Avenue and Glenwood Avenue, close to the festival grounds. Officers arrived to find multiple victims with gunshot wounds.
All 12 victims are reportedly in stable condition. Their ages range from 14 to 61, with most in their early 20s.
Authorities released a photo of another suspect but have not revealed their identity.
Police urge anyone with information about Taylor’s whereabouts or the second suspect’s identity to contact Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111. A reward of up to $15,000 is offered for information leading to arrests, with Crime Stoppers providing $10,000 and the U.S. Marshals Service offering an additional $5,000.
Toledo Deputy Chief Joseph Heffernan stated that two gunmen were likely involved. “They were probably shooting at each other,” he said during a news conference.
Police reported that the incident followed a foot chase and assault between two rival groups at the festival.
Lucas County Prosecutor Julia Bates emphasized their commitment to swift justice, responding to the incident earlier this week.
“Those who were frightened, traumatized, or harmed by this violence will remain at the forefront of our efforts,” Bates stated.
