Investigation into the Death of Fashion Mogul Isak Andic

1 week ago 0

A recent incident has drawn attention to the unexpected death of Isak Andic, a billionaire fashion mogul, and founder of Mango. The tragedy unfolded when Andic was hiking with his son, Jonathan Andic, near Barcelona. During the hike, Isak Andic allegedly fell about 500 feet down a cliff in the mountainous region, resulting in his death in December 2024.

A 911 call by Jonathan Andic, captured by Spanish outlet El País, reveals his intensified plea for assistance: “I need help, my father has fallen! We are in Collbató, he has fallen down a ravine, please send an ambulance, send someone.” The call has become critical evidence as authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding Isak’s death.

Jonathan, who was the only witness to the incident, was arrested in May 2026. He faces scrutiny from Juzgado de Instruccion 5 of Martorell, Barcelona. On May 19, 2026, he was released on a one million euro bail and was required to surrender his passport, ensuring his presence in Spain during the ongoing investigation. Despite these allegations, Jonathan Andic and his family maintain his innocence, and they assert there is no legitimate evidence implicating him in wrongdoing.

Initially, Isak’s fatal fall was perceived as an accident. However, the investigation has since evolved into a potential homicide case. Isak Andic, born in Istanbul, transferred to Catalonia in the 1960s, founding Mango in 1984. He transformed Mango into a well-known fashion brand that rivals other industry leaders such as Zara. At the time of his passing, Isak held a non-executive chairman role at Mango, with his net worth valued at $4.5 billion according to Forbes.

Jonathan is the eldest of Isak’s three children and has been an integral part of Mango’s leadership, serving as the vice chairman of the board. This leadership transition took place after the untimely demise of his father, where he assumed control alongside his sisters.
