Robinson Defense Alleges Prosecutor Misconduct

7 days ago 0

Criminal defense attorney Josh Ritter appeared on ‘Fox & Friends Weekend’ to discuss the Tyler Robinson death penalty case. The defense claims that prosecutorial misconduct occurred concerning media comments.

Moreover, the case has induced backlash against the Metcalf family following the verdict concerning Karmelo Anthony. It’s a complex situation with multiple layers of legal and social implications.

According to a recent court filing, Lance Twiggs, the transgender roommate and romantic partner of Tyler Robinson, received limited immunity for a statement he provided to authorities in April. On Tuesday, prosecutors disclosed in a filing that Twiggs had received “use-immunity” on April 20. This means his recorded statement and communications with Robinson, around the time of Charlie Kirk’s alleged murder, would not be used against him during the July preliminary hearing.

Tyler Robinson attended a hearing in 4th District Court in Provo on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, concerning the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk.

In detail, on April 20, 2026, as part of preparations for the preliminary hearing, Mr. Twiggs provided a recorded statement under oath. An admonition accompanied the statement, emphasizing that any falsehood could result in obstruction of justice charges. The United States Attorney’s Office and the Utah County Attorney’s Office offered use-immunity, ensuring the April 20 statement would not be used against Mr. Twiggs.
