Representative Thomas Kean Jr. Returns Home Amid Health Concerns

Representative Thomas Kean Jr. returned to his New Jersey home on Wednesday evening after being absent from Congress for nearly four months. Kean, seen standing in a brightly lit room of his Westfield home, wore a dark suit and a red tie. He briefly greeted a reporter who rang his doorbell and mentioned he would talk the following week. Kean’s wife, Rhonda, was also present, smiling in the background.

Aides had previously explained that Kean, age 57, was undergoing treatment for a health issue, though no specific details were provided. This caused him to miss more than 100 floor votes since mid-March. Kean, a Republican, is seeking a third term in November. His absence from the campaign trail has frustrated some of his supporters, especially given the highly competitive nature of the upcoming midterm elections.
