Arch Manning Faces Expectations and Hype at Texas Longhorns

1 month ago 0

Arch Manning rapidly gained attention in high school football, and his last name further raised expectations as he joined the Texas Longhorns. As college football experts debate his potential impact in what might be his final collegiate season, his grandfather voiced concerns about the early expectations surrounding the young quarterback.

Speaking to KXAN-TV, Archie Manning expressed disappointment over the pressure put on his grandson before he had even played a college game. “The whole thing. They kind of crowned Arch before he ever played. And I just didn’t think that was fair,” he said. Despite the challenging start, Archie Manning praised his grandson’s resilience and performance stretch during the last part of the season.

The excitement for Arch Manning will likely grow as the new college football season approaches. Many expect him to lead the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff and distinguish himself as a top NFL Draft prospect. In 2025, Manning recorded 3,163 passing yards and 26 touchdown passes.

The Longhorns commence their 2026 season against Texas State on September 5. A more significant challenge lies ahead on September 12 when they face Ohio State at home, posing an early test for the young quarterback.
