Cyclospora Outbreak Raises Concerns Across the U.S.

Thirty-one states are grappling with cases of cyclosporiasis, a parasitic intestinal disease affecting many individuals. This summer has seen an unusually high number of cases, sparking concern among health officials. Although the U.S. has previously experienced outbreaks, the current situation appears more severe.

Dr. Omer Awan from the University of Maryland School of Medicine discussed the issue further with William Brangham. Brangham is known for his work as a correspondent and producer for the PBS News Hour and also hosts Horizons from PBS.
