A tragedy struck aboard a Princess cruise ship when a crewmember went overboard. The Regal Princess, which set sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Saturday, reported the incident near Cancún.
The company has not disclosed the identity of the crewmember involved. In a statement, they expressed their deep condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. They also announced the provision of grief support services for guests and crew members affected by the unfortunate event.
The cruise line extended its gratitude to local authorities and the crew of the Carnival Jubilee for their assistance in the search-and-rescue operations.
The Regal Princess has since resumed its journey. The cruise, which includes a stop in Belize, is scheduled for a seven-day trip, returning to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday.
