The match begins at 3 p.m. EDT, with Argentina aiming for its fourth title and Spain looking for its second. Spain has the chance to become the first nation to hold World Cup titles in both men’s and women’s soccer simultaneously.
This marks the 104th match in this World Cup, the largest in history with 48 teams and games held across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The tournament has already set a record with 307 goals scored before the final match. If Argentina and Spain score at least two goals combined, this World Cup will achieve the highest average goals per game since 1956.
The final will feature not just soccer but entertainment as well. Post Malone is set to headline the closing ceremony, which begins 90 minutes before the game. The halftime show will include performances by Justin Bieber, Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS 22 Chorus with Coldplay, and characters from Sesame Street and the Muppets.
President Donald Trump is set to attend and participate in the trophy presentation. Argentina will wear light blue and white striped jerseys, while Spain will don red jerseys with navy sleeves. The officiating team is from Slovenia, with Slavko Vinčić as the referee, assisted by Tomaž Klančnik and Andraž Kovačič.
