Despite Team USA’s early exit after losing to Belgium in the Round of 16, Hudson performed impressively, drawing applause from the audience. The event was broadcast live, showing Trump amid the applauding crowd.
Beyond the match, the closing ceremony featured performances and speeches. British singer Robbie Williams performed, while actor Tom Cruise delivered a speech emphasizing unity and togetherness across the host countries—the U.S., Canada, and Mexico—during the tournament.
The World Cup trophy arrived in a Louis Vuitton case, presented by Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, with Mario Kempes, 1978 Argentina World Cup champion, showcasing it to the audience. Trump also participated in a FIFA reception at Trump Tower, alongside Gianni Infantino, contributing to the festive atmosphere.
As the ceremony concluded, both teams entered the pitch filled with anticipation. Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, aimed to maintain their world champion status after their 2022 victory against France in Qatar.
