Trump’s Image Set to Appear on New U.S. $1 Coin

2 weeks ago 0

Almost all leaders depicted on over 1,000 of the world’s banknotes and coins are monarchs. Yet, a significant change is underway in the United States.

The U.S. Mint has begun producing a new $1 coin featuring the image of President Donald Trump, as reported by the Treasury Department. This move reflects a broader trend within Trump’s administration, which has consistently placed the president’s visage and name on various federal items since his return to power in 2025. Examples include federal buildings and national park passes.

The introduction of Trump on currency is seen by his administration as a monumental achievement.

The slang term “dead presidents” commonly refers to cash, but soon, a living president, namely Trump, may join them. The prominence of U.S. currency is noteworthy, with the value of physical currency in circulation reaching an unprecedented US$2.46 trillion.

This development aligns with Trump’s efforts to solidify his legacy and reshape national symbols. It marks a historical moment as a living president’s image is set to be minted, signifying influence and presence. Whether this will be well-received or controversial remains a topic of discussion among economists and political analysts.
