Zachary Ehlers, president of the Illinois Railway Museum, guided visitors through a 1926 electrified rail car on July 26, 2026. This tour took place during Railroad Days at Pullman National Historical Park located on Chicago’s Far South Side.
The electric trains, which began service a century ago, marked a significant transition from steam locomotives for commuter service along the south lakefront.
During the weekend event, attendees explored historical rail cars and enjoyed rides on a miniature train.
