Electrical Fire Prompts Evacuation at TikTok’s Culver City Headquarters

An electrical fire at TikTok’s headquarters in Culver City led to an urgent evacuation of the seven-story office on Wednesday afternoon. Police and firefighters responded quickly to manage the situation.

People in the building reported hearing loud noises and experiencing power outages. Some employees were rescued from elevators that had stalled. Emergency responders were able to extinguish the fire swiftly.

The Bristol Parkway building, covering 120,000 square feet, serves as TikTok’s main office in Los Angeles. This space includes studios and artistic murals and can accommodate about 1,000 workers. TikTok consolidated its Los Angeles operations here in 2020.

The fire began on the first floor, and experts suspect electrical issues as the cause. Culver City Police Department spokesperson Jennifer Atenza confirmed there were no injuries or signs of arson. Southern California Edison and a building engineer are currently assessing the damage.

TikTok moved into this location in January 2020, occupying five floors of the office tower. The building is designed to provide space for content creation and features attractive murals.
