OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney has agreed to a plea deal regarding her second-degree murder charge related to the death of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli. The details of this agreement have not been made public and will only take effect if the court approves them. Clenney’s legal representatives, Prieto Law Firm and Puglisi Carames Law, confirmed this to Fox News Digital.
The defense team plans to submit the agreement for consideration in a Miami-Dade County court on August 10. Clenney faces charges for allegedly stabbing Obumseli with a kitchen knife on April 3, 2022, in Miami. Her attorneys stated, “We will reserve further comment on the specific terms until they are placed on the record before the Court.”
Since August 2022, Clenney has remained in custody related to Obumseli’s death at her rented Miami apartment. Her defense claims Obumseli was abusive, describing Clenney as a battered partner. Conversely, Obumseli’s family asserts that he suffered from domestic violence. Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle has characterized the situation as the result of a “tempestuous and combative relationship” beginning in November 2020.
Clenney informed investigators that Obumseli pushed her, causing her to fall. In response, she allegedly threw a knife at him from a short distance, resulting in a fatal chest wound. A medical examiner determined the wound was three inches deep.
The incident was originally viewed as self-defense. However, investigators pursued further inquiries following concerns from Obumseli’s family. At the time, police responded to an aggravated battery call at their Miami, Florida residence, finding Obumseli with a single stab wound to the torso.
A February 2022 video shows Clenney lashing out at Obumseli during a trip to Aspen, Colorado. In the footage, she accuses him of influencing her drinking and costing her money, urging him repeatedly to leave. Clenney also claimed he was involved with other women.
Clenney’s attorneys have urged the public and media to let the legal process unfold without speculation.
