YouTuber Ms. Rachel, known for her children’s educational content, recently led a sing-along at Delaney Hall, an immigration detention center in Newark, New Jersey. This event sparked discussions on the politicization of such actions, involving far-left activists’ protests at similar facilities. Nearly 100 individuals were arrested at these protests.
On Friday, Ms. Rachel expanded her advocacy by endorsing a group of progressive Democratic candidates. Her support includes figures like former Rep. Cori Bush from Missouri and Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. With an audience exceeding 5 million followers, Ms. Rachel leverages her influence to champion candidates focused on children’s welfare.
In a recent Instagram post, Rachel Accurso expressed her views: “I think all kids and people should have medical care. I don’t think anyone needs a billion dollars… all kids should be safe from violence.” Her endorsements cover candidates in eight states, featuring Vermont Rep. Becca Balint, Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, and former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson, among others.
Ms. Rachel openly supports Cori Bush, Abdul El-Sayed, and ten more progressive candidates. Her statement emphasizes finding leaders who prioritize children’s needs. Notably, Bush, a Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) member, remains committed to abolishing ICE, achieving Medicare for all, and promoting economic justice.
Abdul El-Sayed, despite endorsements from prominent figures like Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, distanced himself from the socialist label in an interview. He advocates for policies such as Medicare-for-all and reevaluating corporate priorities to sustain long-term business success. Accurso contributed $3,000 to El-Sayed’s campaign.
Accurso also highlighted the negative impact of significant financial influence in politics. She opposes politicians attacking each other and condemns substantial financial groups dominating candidate narratives. The National Republican Senatorial Committee has criticized both Accurso and El-Sayed for their approaches.
Beyond endorsements, Ms. Rachel has addressed issues like the investigation into Nolan Wells’ mysterious death, suggesting racial elements in law enforcement’s actions. Her involvement in politics extends from her commitment to the welfare of families, as demonstrated by her visit to Delaney Hall and urging Congress to halt family detention practices.
Fox News Digital attempted to contact Accurso, Bush, the DSA, and El-Sayed but did not immediately receive a response.
