Rep. Marcy Kaptur, an 80-year-old congresswoman from Ohio, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a car crash. The incident occurred as she headed to a church service near Toledo.
According to a statement from her office, Kaptur was sitting in the passenger seat when the vehicle was involved in the collision. Despite her injuries, she was reported to be alert and active on Sunday evening while hospitalized.
This event comes as Kaptur continues her role representing Ohio’s 9th congressional district, a position she has held for several decades, making her one of the longest-serving women in the U.S. House of Representatives.
