Fox News contributor Joe Concha has voiced strong criticism against Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Concha accused El-Sayed of misrepresenting his medical credentials, arguing that his claims are deceitful and disrespectful to the profession of real doctors. Concha emphasizes that El-Sayed’s lack of a medical license means he has not saved lives, urging voters to be cautious of such misrepresentations.
Before his Senate run, El-Sayed hosted a podcast, earning six figures largely from advertising health products. Despite publicly rejecting advertisements making health claims, he promoted businesses selling supplements and a metabolism-tracking device under scrutiny by health experts. Concha highlighted the contradiction between El-Sayed’s assurance not to exploit his platform and his actual practice of using medical credentials to sell health products.
“I broadly reject any advertisements that are for products making claims about health,” El-Sayed wrote in a deleted post from March 2022.
El-Sayed had previously criticized Mehmet Oz during Oz’s Senate campaign, accusing him of being part of the “medical industrial complex.” Yet, El-Sayed promoted the products while citing his medical background, which is contrary to his public stance.
El-Sayed’s advertising included Thrive Market, which offers supplements like “Moon Juice Brain Dust” and “Royal Jelly Brain Fuel”—both claiming to enhance cognitive abilities, despite expert skepticism regarding scientific support for these claims.
Records show El-Sayed holds a medical degree and a doctorate in public health but lacks a medical license or residency completion. His advertisements also featured a device by an Israeli startup, marketed as a metabolism coach. Concerns about its scientific legitimacy were previously raised by experts.
El-Sayed’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment on these matters.
